Cordless Cat Water Fountain — 3.2L Stainless Steel

Pack

Cats have a low thirst drive and a bowl of still water asks them to do something they were never built to do. Moving, filtered water is what changes that.

  • 3.2 litres, kept moving and filtered — days of water for one cat, plenty for two
  • 304 food-grade stainless steel — cleans properly, doesn't hold odour or irritate a cat's chin the way plastic can
  • 5000mAh battery, USB charge — the maker rates it up to 60 days in sensor mode. That is their figure, not one we have measured
  • Motion sensor — runs when your cat comes near, not all day
  • Three modes — sensor and timed run on the battery; continuous needs the mains lead, and we would rather tell you that now than after
  • Water-level window on the front, so you can see when to refill from across the room
  • Carbon filter and sponge included, and it comes apart without tools

The actual problem

A cat ignoring its water bowl isn’t fussiness. It’s instinct.

Cats evolved in dry country and took most of their water from what they ate. Left to a bowl of still water a lot of them simply drink less than they should — which is why yours goes and sits under the tap instead.

A bowl of still water

Sits there going stale

  • Still water reads as unsafe water — the instinct does not switch off indoors
  • Dust, fur and food get in and stay in between refills
  • Plastic scratches, and the scratches hold bacteria and odour
  • You find out it is empty by walking past it

This fountain

Keeps 3.2 litres moving and filtered

  • Moving water is what a cat reads as fresh — that is the whole mechanism
  • Carbon filter and sponge take out hair, debris, odour and taste
  • 304 food-grade stainless, which cleans properly and does not hold biofilm
  • Level window on the front — you can see it from across the room

The obvious question

You can find this fountain cheaper. Here is what cheaper buys you.

We are not going to pretend we are the lowest price, because you will find one in about thirty seconds. What we will do is tell you exactly what the gap pays for.

The cheaper listing

Usually means a seller you cannot reach

  • Two to four weeks. The stock is overseas, so the parcel is too — often tracked on a foreign postal service
  • No ABN, no address, no company name. Check the footer of the cheap one. There is usually nothing there
  • You pay return postage even when it is faulty, and "sale items" are excluded — which, at half price, is everything
  • A countdown that resets every time you reload, and a review count nobody counted

This one

A business you can actually chase

  • 3–7 business days from Sydney, tracked, free. Not a fortnight, and not from overseas
  • ABN 52 246 135 801 on every page, and an Australian email that a person answers
  • Faulty means we pay the postage — prepaid label or we collect it. No exclusions, no "sale items" clause
  • No timers, no invented review counts, no crossed-out price we never charged. All three are unlawful here and we would rather sell fewer

If the only thing that matters to you is the number, buy the cheap one — genuinely. If you would rather the thing turned up next week and somebody picked up when it did not, that is the difference you are paying for.

Three ways to run it

Two of the three need no cable at all

We would run it in sensor mode. It lasts longest on a charge, and it is the reason there is nothing trailing across your floor.

1

Sensor mode

Runs on battery. The pump wakes when your cat comes near and stops when it leaves. Longest runtime of the three, and the one we would use.

2

Timed mode

Runs on battery. Twenty seconds of flow every thirty minutes, whether or not anyone is in the room.

3

Continuous mode

Needs the mains lead. Water flows without stopping. We are telling you that before you buy rather than after.

Out of the box

Set up in under five minutes

1

Rinse and fit the filter

It comes apart without tools. Rinse the bowl, drop the carbon filter and the sponge into the housing.

2

Fill to the line

3.2 litres. The window on the front shows MAX and MIN, so you top it up when you can see it rather than when the cat tells you.

3

Charge it and put it down

USB charge, then set it where your cat already drinks. Leave the old bowl out for a few days rather than taking it away.

Most cats investigate within minutes. Give it two or three days before you judge it — some take to it straight away, some want to watch it from a distance first.

Before you buy

The questions people actually ask

Will my cat actually use it?

Most cats take to it in one to three days. Put it where your cat already drinks and leave the old bowl out for a few days rather than removing it. If yours will not use it, that is exactly what the 90-day guarantee is for.

How long does a charge last?

The manufacturer rates the 5000mAh battery at up to 60 days in battery mode. That is their figure, not ours — we have not run one for 60 days and we will not claim a number we have not measured. Sensor mode lasts far longer than timed mode. Continuous mode is not a battery mode at all: it needs the lead.

How often do the filters need changing?

Every two to four weeks, depending on how many cats you have and on your water. A six-pack lasts roughly three to six months, and refills are $44.99.

Is it loud?

The pump runs at a whisper — quiet enough to leave on overnight in a bedroom. In sensor mode it is not running most of the time anyway.

How many cats can share one?

3.2 litres comfortably covers one or two cats. With three or more you will be topping it up daily, which the level window makes obvious.

What if it arrives faulty?

We pay the return postage and send a prepaid label or arrange collection. You never pay to send back a faulty item. There is no time limit on a faulty-goods claim — the 90 days is our change-of-mind window, not a cap on your rights.

How long does delivery take?

Three to seven business days, tracked, dispatched from Sydney. Free on every order within Australia. We do not ship internationally.

90 days to change your mind

Try it. If your cat ignores it, send it back.

We sell one thing, so we would rather you returned it than kept something your cat will not use. Ninety days, no argument, and we pay the postage if it is faulty.
